So a little history...
Last August as we were moving from Malad to Rexburg right before school started, we decided to rent a house. We found one (that allowed dogs) and signed a lease. The landlords ended up getting super sketchy and not following the terms of the lease as far as the rent and deposit went and everything. Luckily it was before we moved in, so we were able to get out of the lease and out of a sketchy situation. Then we found a house from a girl I used to work with. They were moving and letting their house go back to the bank, so we figured we might as well rent it cheap for a few months and get cash for keys when their house foreclosed. We packed up our house on moving day and drove the 2 hours to Rexburg. When we got there the people hadn't even began to pack up their stuff. Their house was full, unpacked, and we were packed and had given the keys from our old apartment back to our landlords. So we ended up leaving our trailer full of stuff at the house and spending the weekend and Josh's parents, hoping that by Monday the people would have been moved out. Monday rolls around and we go back to the house, basically nothing had been packed or moved. They just cleared out the master bedroom so we could put our stuff in. We moved into the master bedroom and lived out of there for a week. Finally by the end of the week we realized these people were never going to get their stuff out of there. Not to mention none of the electrical outlets worked, and there was black mold growing on the tub that I just could not seem to scrub off (even with bleach, bleck!) So we cut our loses, and went on a house hunt again. We finally found this house that we are in now. It has been great! It was such a blessing to find it. Our landlords are amazing and we love them to death, the ward is awesome, and the rent is cheap. However, almost 1 year later we are on the house hunt again. The house we live in is about 10 miles (one way) to the school, or to Josh's work...so we spend a boatload of money on gas each month. Also, one of the major problems is it is out in the woods (which we love) but that means we get absolutely no internet. We have tried LITERALLY every single service provider out here (PS. I'm pretty sure CableOne is owned by the mob. When I called I talked to 3 guys Carmine, Mickey, and Josephio. They all sounded like the mob. I was scared to tell them my address!) Anywho... It seems so petty to say that we can't "live" without the internet, but it's true! I am working from home and need the internet for my job, and I have been coming into the public library to get work done, but it's getting really hard to do that with a baby. Also, Josh is starting school again in the fall and needs the internet to do homework. If we don't have internet we end up spending MORE gas money to come into town to get internet. We have been told the only option we have out there (that might not even work) is dial-up...and I will not go back to the 80's! Urghh So we are back on the house hunt. We are looking at 3 apartments today and one on Friday. Hopefully our landlords can let us out of our lease 2 months early, or hopefully we can sell it (it really is a cute house and an awesome place to live, we just can't stay there any longer).
let me know once you guys move to town and we'll come help you move! Also, we still need to have you over! I miss you!
